There are enough people doubting your decisions for you to be doing the same. Sometimes, you just have to rely on your instincts and do what you feel is right, what you believe is in your best interests. Of course, no one likes seeing you have that power; people love influencing you and steering you in directions they desire. But you have to break free of anyone else's thoughts and opinions. Belief in yourself dwindles when you shrink your own voice so someone else's can grow.
You have to understand that you are your own greatest asset. You have to protect that asset, physically and mentally. Life comes with a myriad of obstacles, split paths and unpredictable twists --- they all contain decisions that will determine the course your life will travel. That power shouldn't be in the hands of anyone else but you. There's nothing wrong with seeking guidance from those with wisdom and experience, but the bulk of your journey will rely on your understanding of where you want to go in life. And if you aren't sure which direction you want to head in, that isn't a problem outside consultation can fix. Your personal journey can't be fulfilled by anyone else.
Stop doubting yourself, and more importantly, don't let anyone instill fear and hesitation in your heart.
Part of journeying through life involves answering questions about ourselves and what we believe we're meant to do. You're robbing yourself of that experience if you hesitate to trust in your ability to find those answers, and choose to instead wait for them to be handed to you. As you peruse through all the challenges attacking you, the more you practice your decision-making, the more confident you'll be in taking control of the chaos.
Stop doubting yourself, and more importantly, don't let anyone instill fear and hesitation in your heart. Whatever plans, objectives, or milestones you aim to complete and accomplish, it's the veracity of your will that will determine your success. Sometimes, we get so caught up in the thought of failure; we're afraid what the ramifications of failing are and it cripples us. But those inhibitions are false. Truthfully, there is no one better suitor to make choices about your own life than you.
Your ambitions will mature and become more effective when you take control of your choices
All the success you've achieved and all the success you'll eventually capture will be credited to your ability to define what you want for yourself. Weigh the risks, the rewards and execute your plan. Outside opinions should not penetrate and disrupt your focus or thought process. That's weakness --- something you can't afford. You have to allow your inner drive to flourish; your ambitions will mature and become more effective when you take control of your choices. You know where you want to be, you know the things you want to have. Visualize every inch of your desires and plot meticulously how you'll set out to drag those desires into reality. And when you set out to execute that gameplan, erase all doubt from your mind. That's a gateway to suppressing your opinions and convictions in favor of the opinions of strangers.
It's easy for someone to see where you are in life and make predictions and recommendations based on what they would do. But your life is about what you would do. Your journey doesn't have their name written on it. You wear the jacket of your own destiny, complete with a nametag and your perfect size. Stop taking the jacket off and giving it to someone who doesn't need it nor can't do anything with it. Remember, seeking advice isn't wrong. In fact, it's a wise thing to do. But the totality of your walk with destiny can't be traveled by other people. It's a path with room for only one traveler. You're taking yourself off the road for people who don't have the right shoes to walk it.
Trust in you. Whatever that dream is, that goal, that ambition, it can't be realized by anyone else. Some decisions you make will be wrong, but it's those wrong decisions that will sharpen your wisdom and better prepare you to make right ones. Wrong decisions inspire the proper corrections.
Don't fear being wrong, fear not taking control of your future.
